Welcome to The Aligned Self
I’m Annamarie, a therapist offering a thoughtful, affirming space for people who have often felt a little out of step with the world around them.
Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, including those on the autism spectrum or with ADHD. This may be formally diagnosed or self-identified and for many it may be discovered later in life. You may have spent years adapting, masking, or pushing yourself to cope, without fully understanding why life can feel more intense, exhausting, or overwhelming than it seems for others.
You might recognise yourself as sensitive, intuitive, deeply reflective, or prone to overthinking. You may have always felt “different,” without quite having the language for it.
Therapy is a space where you can be truly seen, heard, and understood. It’s a place to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgement, and to find ways to move through life with more ease, clarity, and connection to yourself.
Therapy Approach
I work with people navigating patterns that no longer serve them — including overwhelm, burnout, addictive behaviours, and periods of significant change. I offer therapy that honours complexity, depth, and the whole person.
My approach is relational and grounded in established counselling practice, while remaining attentive to meaning, identity, and the patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and the world. We work gently and collaboratively, guided by what feels most supportive for you.
