Hello, I’m Annamarie

I’m a therapist offering a thoughtful, affirming space for people who experience the world a little differently.  Through life “quirky” has basically been my middle name! I know what it is like to feel different and to search for something more. That sense of not quite belonging has led me on a long journey exploring different ways to heal, learn, and grow - a winding path that eventually led me to train as a therapist. 

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from The Psychosynthesis Trust, and my work is shaped by both my professional background and my own lived experience of navigating life as a sensitive and reflective person.

My Journey

There have been many things that have supported me on my journey toward feeling more at home in the world (Hello special interests!! ). I’ve always been drawn to the symbolic and soulful threads that run beneath everyday life. My curiosity about the unseen aspects of life, and my desire to understand myself and the world more fully, has taken me on a path of exploration and self-discovery.

I absolutely love Tarot and have found it to be a very meaningful tool in my own life, which is why I also enjoy sharing it with others. I’m drawn to practices that help us go a little deeper. For me, plant medicines have been an invaluable part of my own journey, which is why I offer support to those considering their use. These tools have helped me cultivate a deeper appreciation for the magic and wonder of everyday life, allowing me to live with more joy and connection.

My journey has shaped the way I hold space for others - with curiosity, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique experience. Alongside my work as a therapist, I have a background in nursing and spent many years working in palliative care - supporting people through life’s most profound transition. These experiences have deepened my respect for tending to the whole person - body, mind, and spirit.

Nature & Healing

Spending time in nature is absolutely essential to my wellbeing. I find it a wonderful antidote to the speed and pressures of modern life (which, honestly - is it just me, or does anyone else find the pace completely insane?!).

I’m a keen amateur forager, so you may well find me crawling around a local woodland searching for my supper! Nature reminds me of the power of slowing down, noticing the rhythms of life, and offers a model for living in alignment. I think there’s a lot to be said for noticing the season we’re in - both literally and metaphorically - and how each one brings its own lessons and energy. It’s something you’ll probably hear me talk about quite a lot! (Especially if you happen to sign up for my newsletter.)

I share my life with a sweet little cat called Mabel, and for me, emotional regulation often looks like hugging a horse. From time to time, I hold workshops where I share simple, earth-based practices that help us slow down, reconnect, and attune to the natural rhythms both around us and within ourselves.
